Taking Math to the eXtreme!!

Xtreme Math Games Playbook has game ideas for concepts found in grades 3 through 9. Games are best played with 6 or 3 students on a game board.

One of the best things about the Xtreme Math Games, is that the teacher can easily meet the needs of all students. It is easy to differentiate instruction. Have the bulk of the class play with a particular concept, for example practice of multiplication skills. At the same time extend the game for a higher group, possibly using multiplication of fractions. Modify the game for a group with weaker skills in multiplication allowing the students to use a multiplication square to help them in solving the problems and by using simple multi-sided dice.

The Standards based Playbook comes with built-in pre and post assessments so that the teacher is sure that students are playing with other students at their own instructional level. The different variations meet many of the NCTM Principles and Standards and California State Standards.
